Data migration is an add-on to any package. We say up front what it covers, so switch day holds no surprises.

- passwords - customers set a new one from an email link ("Forgot password")
- order history - if you need it, we quote it separately
- the old store's theme and plugins - the new store is built fresh

How the move runs.
Six steps, in the order they happen.
- 01 · Export and mapping
We take the data out of the old store and map its fields to Medusa's - products, variants, categories, customers.
- 02 · Test import
We import the data into a staging store, password-protected and hidden from search engines. The old store keeps selling.
- 03 · Redirect map
Every old product, category and page address gets a redirect to its new address.
- 04 · Switch day
We point the domain (DNS) at the new store, with TLS and live payment and courier credentials. Part of the launch in every package.
- 05 · The first 48 hours
The new store is monitored through its first 48 hours live.
- 06 · 3-month warranty
For three months from launch day we fix defects and bugs in what we built, free of charge.

Redirects keep your rankings.
Google knows your old addresses. If they suddenly lead nowhere, the search value they built up is lost. So at launch every old address gets a permanent (301) redirect to its new one - in every package, not only with the migration.
FAQ
Before you move.
Will the store go offline during the move?
The old store keeps running and taking orders until switch day. Preparation, the test import and the checks happen on a separate staging store; on switch day we point the domain at the new one.
Do customers have to reset their passwords?
Yes. Passwords can't be carried over from the old system, so customers set a new one from an email link ("Forgot password"). Their account is already in the new store.
Does order history move?
It isn't part of the data migration, which covers products, variants, images, categories and customers. If you need the past orders as well, we quote that separately.
Which platforms do you move stores from?
WooCommerce, Shopify and OpenCart. If your store runs on something else, write to us and we will check what can be taken out of it.
Will I lose my Google rankings?
That is what the redirect map is for: every old address leads to its new address, so the search value it built up is not dropped. It is part of the launch in every package.
